WYFF: Attorney General Candidate Stumps In Greenville
Alan Wilson Vying For State’s Top Prosecutor Job
GREENVILLE, S.C. — Now that Attorney General Henry McMaster has officially announced he’s running for governor, someone has to take his job.
Alan Wilson would like to have it. He officially launched his campaign for attorney general in Columbia on Tuesday.
Wednesday morning, Wilson was at Tommy’s Ham House in Greenville introducing himself to diners.
Wilson is currently a civil litigator for a private law firm in Columbia. He’s been a prosecutor before and feels his past experience will help him succeed as attorney general.
“I was the assistant solicitor in the 11th Judicial Circuit prosecuting violent crimes there,” Wilson said. “I was also an assistant attorney general working for Henry McMaster’s office for several years, so I have a passion for prosecution.”
Wilson is also an Iraq war veteran. He was awarded the Palmetto Cross for leading combat troops through two insurgent attacks.
