Vast Majority of SC Sheriffs Believe Wilson is the Proven Prosecutor Needed to Keep Families Safe
COLUMBIA, SC – Twenty-eight current and three former South Carolina sheriffs have endorsed Alan Wilson for Attorney General.
To date, twenty-eight of South Carolina’s forty-six sheriffs have endorsed a candidate for Attorney General. All twenty-nine of those sheriffs, listed below, have united behind Wilson.
They are: Charles Goodwin (Abbeville), Michael Hunt (Aiken), John Skipper (Anderson), Ed Darnell (Bamberg), Ed Carroll (Barnwell), Wayne DeWitt (Berkeley), Thomas Summers (Calhoun), Richard Smith (Chester), Sam Parker (Chesterfield), Randy Garrett (Clarendon), L.C. Knight (Dorchester), Herman Young (Fairfield), Kenney Boone (Florence), Tony Davis (Greenwood), T.C. Smalls (Hampton), Greg Jenkins (Jasper), Ricky Chastain (Laurens), James Metts (Lexington), Mark Richardson (Marion), Fred Knight (Marlboro), Lee Foster (Newberry), James Singleton (Oconee), David Stone (Pickens), Jason Booth (Saluda), Chuck Wright (Spartanburg), David Taylor (Union), Bruce Bryant (York), and former sheriffs Dan Wideman (Greenwood), John Cauthen (Lancaster), and George Booth (Saluda).
Sheriffs and members of the law enforcement community have rallied behind Wilson because of his record as a proven prosecutor and his understanding of what it takes to be an Attorney General who will help law enforcement keep our families safe.

For Wilson, keeping our families safe is personal. He and his wife Jennifer are the proud parents of a two-year-old son Michael and a four month old daughter, Anna Grace.
Wilson is a former Assistant Solicitor in Lexington County and Assistant Attorney General statewide. He is also a combat veteran who served in Iraq as an officer in the South Carolina National Guard.
