From successfully prosecuting some of South Carolina’s worst and most violent criminals to leading convoys in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Alan Wilson has the proven leadership and experience to continue making South Carolina the best and safest place to live, work and raise a family.

PROVEN PROSECUTOR
A proven prosecutor with a record of keeping South Carolina’s streets clean and our tax dollars safe, Alan first discovered his love of the courtroom while working for the late Judge Marc H. Westbrook.

Since that time, Alan has spent countless hours as both an Assistant Solicitor in Lexington County and Assistant Attorney General with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. During his career, Alan has prosecuted crimes across South Carolina including violent crimes, white collar crime, public corruption, DUI, domestic violence and child abuse.

FAMILY MAN
Alan and his wife, Jennifer, have a two-year-old son, Michael, and a six-month old daughter, Anna Grace. As a father and a family man, Alan’s desire to keep South Carolina safe is both personal and part of a values system instilled in him by his parents at a young age. As a member of Columbia’s First Presbyterian Church since his childhood, duty to God and country have been paramount to Alan and the entire Wilson Family. Alan is the grandson of two World War II veterans – his paternal grandfather flew planes over the Pacific as a Flying Tiger, while his maternal grandfather survived a sniper’s bullet in Okinawa.

Alan’s mother Roxanne and his father Joe, who is a retired member of the South Carolina National Guard with 31 years of service, have passed the family tradition of serving a cause greater than one’s self onto Alan and his three brothers. Each brother is an Eagle Scout and currently serves in the military.

MILITARY VETERAN
Immediately following his graduation from Francis Marion University in 1996, Alan joined the South Carolina National Guard where his first assignment was as a platoon leader, commanding 36 fellow soldiers and millions of dollars worth of firepower as a field artillery officer. During his 13 years in the National Guard, Alan has been promoted to the rank of Major and received the Combat Action Badge for service in Iraq.

Today, Alan is still active with the South Carolina National Guard. He currently serves as a Judge Advocate General where he provides legal support for soldiers and prosecutes military crimes. He works at Willoughby and Hoefer, a civil litigation firm in Columbia, SC.

BOLCHOZ JOINS CONDON IN ENDORSING WILSON FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL

Former Candidate Says “Alan Wilson Has the Right Experience to be Attorney General”

(COLUMBIA, SC – Monday, June 14, 2010) Former candidate for Attorney General Robert Bolchoz joined former South Carolina Attorney General Charlie Condon in endorsing Alan Wilson at news conferences today in Mt. Pleasant, Columbia and Greenville.

Last Tuesday, nearly two thirds of South Carolina Republican Primary voters sent a statement that our next Attorney General needs to be a proven prosecutor.

Bolchoz, a former Chief Deputy Attorney General and Deputy Solicitor and Assistant Solicitor, agrees, saying, “I got to know Alan Wilson on the campaign trail. He’s a man of integrity, character and a proven leader. From the courtroom to the battlefield, he has proved he has what it takes to be Attorney General. I am proud to endorse Alan Wilson for Attorney General because he has the prosecutorial experience South Carolinians need.”

Wilson is now the only candidate for Attorney General with prosecution experience.

“Robert Bolchoz is the real deal,” Wilson said. “He was a great competitor and has become a good friend. The only thing better than seeing Robert and his family on the campaign trail is having them on my team. Robert is a proven prosecutor who shares the same values in faith, family, and freedom that I do. Receiving Robert Bolchoz’s endorsement is a tremendous honor and I am proud to have both Robert and Charlie on my team.”

“Alan Wilson is the only prosecutor now running to be South Carolina’s Chief Prosecutor, “Bolchoz added. “Alan and I agree our next Attorney General needs proven prosecution experience and so do an overwhelming majority of Sheriffs and more than 60 current or former prosecutors who are backing Alan Wilson. We support Alan because he has the real experience working with law enforcement to put criminal behind bars and keep our families and streets safe.”

Former Attorney General Charlie Condon also gave his backing to Wilson. “I’ve been a Solicitor, an Attorney General, and a Managing Partner of a law firm,” Condon said. “I can tell you first hand our next Attorney General must be a proven prosecutor. That proven prosecutor is Alan Wilson. Alan has an impressive resume and will make us proud as Attorney General.”

“I have seen Alan Wilson fight crime first hand and I know he will make an outstanding Attorney General. That is why I urge all South Carolinians to join me in supporting Alan Wilson for Attorney General,” continued Condon.

Bolchoz and Condon were joined at the news conferences by United States Representative Joe Wilson, who is the father of their choice for Attorney General.

“It is an honor to have the support of Charlie Condon. I have greatly admired his work as both a Solicitor and as Attorney General and hope to follow his lead when it comes to keeping our families safe,” Wilson said.

Alan Wilson is a proven prosecutor and an Iraq War combat veteran. He is a former Assistant Solicitor and a former Assistant Attorney General. Wilson and his wife Jennifer have two young children, Michael and Anna Grace. They live in Lexington.

“In the race for Attorney General, Alan Wilson is the only candidate with the prosecutorial experience to be South Carolina’s chief prosecutor. There is a reason why an overwhelming majority of South Carolina sheriffs have joined more than 60 current and former prosecutors in backing Alan Wilson. It’s because he has real experience in working with law enforcement, putting criminals behind bars, and keeping our families safe,” said Condon.

“Alan Wilson has an impressive resume. He’s worked with law enforcement leaders as both an Assistant Solicitor and Assistant Attorney General. Alan has shown the courage to lead while guiding a convoy through enemy fire in Iraq. The fact is only one candidate for Attorney General has the right experience for the job and that’s Alan Wilson,” continued Condon.
